BillFair

Which electricity network is my postcode in?

Enter the postcode of the site. We will name the distribution network that serves it — the business that owns the poles and wires — and link to the business plans advertised there.

Use the postcode of the supply address, not a PO Box.

How to confirm it on the bill

The bill is the authoritative source for the site. The distributor usually appears near the supply address or in the network charges section, often with a tariff code. If a comparison is run from a bill, it uses that network and the site's own usage, rather than a postcode-level assumption.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my electricity network on a bill?

The distributor name usually appears near the supply address or in the network charges section of the bill. It may be printed as the network's full name or as a shorter form, such as Endeavour for Endeavour Energy.

Why does one postcode show more than one network?

Postcodes are postal areas, not network boundaries, and the two do not always line up. A postcode near a boundary can contain sites served by different networks. The bill for the specific site is the definitive answer.

Why is my postcode not covered?

Two cases are common. Postal-only ranges such as PO Box and business-reply postcodes have no distribution network. Victoria is not covered yet because the public reference data we use carries only a handful of Victorian postcodes.

Does my network decide which retailer I can choose?

Not directly: any retailer serving your state can generally supply a site in your network. But not every advertised plan is offered in every network, which is why a comparison should be run against the site's actual address.
